Studio Visit consists of images taken in the studio of a Moroccan artist who is known locally as 'the artist who doesn't want to sell any work'. His work is difficult to recognize as work. It is made of worthless materials that eventually disintegrate. Nobody is ever allowed to see the work, and the artist remains silent about his intentions. Halloubi films the studio and the silent artist with warmth and meticulousness.
In the meantime he asks questions about the context within which we observe and assess art, thereby indirectly questioning his own working process, the art market and art criticism. Via the anonymity of the artist Halloubi refers to the insular nature of the art world. Those who do not comply with the standards and values of the system are often excluded from it.
