Privacy & Cookie Statement

De Pont Museum respects your privacy and we take steps to ensure that any personal information you entrust to us is handled with the proper confidentiality. We collect no names, addresses, telephone numbers or other personal data unless that data has been voluntarily provided to us by the relevant individual(s) or is necessary in order to provide the services you wish to use. De Pont Museum has taken appropriate measures to secure personal data against loss or unlawful processing. De Pont Museum will not retain this data beyond the term permitted by law.

Website
De Pont Museum's website issues functional cookies which are necessary to ensure optimum function of the website. Because these functional cookies do not collect any data, the current privacy legislation allows us to install them without explicit consent.

De Pont Museum makes use of Google Analytics, meaning we assess our website by means of analytical cookies. We do this in order to gain better insight into how visitors use our website. Your IP address is anonymised for the purposes of this processing. We use this data to optimise the website for visitors. It is common practice for many organisations to analyse their website via Google.

Our website includes a number of links directing visitors to YouTube and other websites. When you click on such a link, these sites may place cookies of their own on your computer. De Pont Museum has no authority over the cookie settings of other websites.

Newsletter
De Pont Museum processes email addresses for the purpose of sending newsletters and invitations, which we do using Mailchimp. You can subscribe and unsubscribe to our newsletter as you wish; visit our site for more on this. When you subscribe to our newsletter, we need your name and email address in order to provide it. Your IP address will be anonymised in this context as well. This data tells us how our newsletter is being read and lets us track clicks on the newsletter. We do this in order to ensure the newsletter reflects our subscribers’ preferences as closely as possible. This data is not transferred to any third parties, with the exception of Mailchimp itself.

Provision of services
Via the Global Tickets reservation system, De Pont Museum offers services including activities and other museum products. The Museum offers tours via the i-Reserve system. These systems process only the personal data that is necessary to provide these services, and which you have actively shared with us. This data is processed in accordance with GDPR legislation.

In order to distribute printed materials, De Pont Museum shares address details with a partner, the printer, with whom we have a processing agreement in place. This processing agreement stipulates that the printer may use the data exclusively for the purpose of distributing printed materials on De Pont’s behalf.

Photography and video recordings
On certain occasions, such as during openings or PUNCH. events, photos and videos are made at the Museum’s behest. If you do not wish to appear in photos or on film, you can inform the photographer and/or videographer in question.

De Pont Museum deploys security cameras to protect its artworks and building. While the resulting footage is not shared with other parties, it is retained for a maximum period of 30 days for security purposes and may be made available to the police on request.

De Pont Museum does not store personal data beyond the term necessary to carry out the purpose for which that data was provided or (if a statutory retention period applies) longer than is required by law. You have the right to review, correct or request destruction of your personal data. In the event you wish to do so, or if you have any questions about this statement, you may contact De Pont via info@depont.nl.
