Taco Dibbits new Chair of De Pont museum

After having been the Chair of our museum for 30 years,  Jos de Pont has been succeeded by Taco Dibbits, Director-General of the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam. Jos de Pont, the oldest son of our founder Jan de Pont, has been involved with the foundation, which is named after his father, since it was established in 1988. Together with his brother and sisters he carried out Jan de Pont's wish that part of his fortune would be used for the stimulation of contemporary visual art. Last year the museum celebrated its 25th anniversary with the succesful exhibition ReView.

Taco Dibbits has been on De Pont's board since 2011. One of his first tasks as new Chair is to start looking for a successor of Hendrik Driessen, the founding director of De Pont, who will retire in the summer of 2019. He will do so in close collaboration with the four other board members: Alexander Collot d’Escury, John Leighton, Caroline de Pont and Steven Vis.
